Modern Flood Myths: Imagining the future of Eastbourne in the context of climate change.

A new creative collaborative project between Printers Playhouse and Blue Heart, explored through Art Workshops, Writing Workshops & Creative Walks.

The resulting work from these workshops culminates in an immersive exhibition at PPH.

Explore the impact of climate change on our beloved seaside town of Eastbourne through engaging and interactive workshops bringing together community members of all ages.

These sessions are held in collaboration with the Blue Heart Foundation and are designed to promote discussion on the impact our changing climate may have on our locality.


Art Workshops: Saturdays, 2 pm, £4.

Local Artist, Lucy Dean, will be running more art sessions in the new year, for anyone interested in creating a new piece of artwork for the show. Also to support artists working on their current ideas at home.

Participants can express their thoughts and feelings through various art forms, including painting, writing, photography and collaborative projects. Together, we’ll discuss how climate change affects our coastal environment and what we can do to raise awareness to protect it.

Writing Workshops: Thursdays, 6 pm, £3.
Nov 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, Jan 16th, 23rd, 30th, Feb 6th, 27th, Mar 6th, 13th, 20th

Join Oli Piotrowski and the Creative Writing Club for several sessions, delving into themes of flood risk and climate change. Each session will begin with a prompt to inspire creativity, followed by 25-30 minutes of writing time. Participants will then have the opportunity to share their work with the rest of the group.

Creative Walks: Saturdays, 12 noon, Free.
Nov 9th, Feb 22nd

Join Lucy & Oli as they venture out of Printers Playhouse and into Eastbourne, looking for creative inspiration. Each walk will be broken up with mixed-media sessions inside local pubs or cafes where participants can spend some time drawing or writing.
